Oral Sleep Appliances LLC provides Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment services using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures. Sleep apnea is a potentially life-threatening sleep disorder characterized by repeated pauses in breathing during sleep. Initially, Orthodontist Dr. Adam Weiss will want to meet with you to review your medical history and any past sleep studies. For those without a sleep study, a preliminary questionnaire will be provided to assess the need for referral to a sleep physician.
Oral appliances used by the office will be shown and their use thoroughly explained. Patients will be given an opportunity to review our informed consent forms with time to ask questions. A general dental screening will be provided to assess the ability to wear an oral appliance. Full Orthodontic records will be taken for those patients interested in proceeding with treatment. This will serve as a baseline record prior to starting Oral Appliance Therapy.
As an Orthodontic professional, Dr. Weiss can also provide an Orthodontic evaluation for those patients who want to improve the appearance and function of their teeth prior to starting Oral Appliance therapy. Since Oral Sleep Appliances attach to the teeth in their existing position, correction of a malocclusion needs to take place before making a sleep appliance.

Orthodontists are uniquely qualified to treat patients with Oral Sleep Appliances. The method of action for these appliances is to advance the mandible (lower jaw) forward. Orthodontists have been using versions of these appliances for years with children in need of advancement of their mandibles to improve growth. An Orthodontist is most familiar with the fabrication, delivery, and adjustments needed for these appliances.
